Since the beginning of OK Divers Resort & Spa in Padangbai, we have recognized our environmental responsibility and have established our commitment towards a more sustainable future. We do our best to be an Eco-friendly resort as underlined in our hotel policy.
Freshwater, not only in Padangbai but in the whole of Bali, is particularly scarce. For this reason, we recycle all of the water by using our environmentally friendly septics resulting in no polluted water produced by our resort.
We are continuing to carefully source organic products and materials for cleaning in order to prevent the pollution and minimize our impact on the environment. In addition to this, we purchase the supplies and materials in bulk so that the carbon footprint caused by logistics is minimized.
Our staff has been trained to conserve energy and keep the electricity and water consumption as well as non-organic waste to an absolute minimum. To make the energy-saving policies even more efficient, we use LED bulbs in the whole resort. What’s more, electricity in the rooms is activated via the card-key to avoid unnecessary energy waste.
We provide free drinking water to our guests with refillable, recycled, hand-made glass bottles as opposed to plastic bottled water. By this move, we are not only trying to make the stay at our resort move convenient for our guests and minimize the single-use plastics at the same time.
We are ocean lovers and scuba diving in Bali is our great passion. It is then understandable that we prefer seeing fish and marine life underwater in their natural environment, rather than on the plate as we consider overfishing a serious problem. That is why our restaurant The Colonial, does not serve fish or seafood.
The restaurant in our resort also does not provide any plastic straws and we use steel ones instead. In addition to this, our guests can purchase their own and continue pursuing an eco-friendly lifestyle on their own.
Our staff cleans the public beach that stretches in front of our accommodation in Bali, Padangbai every morning to help maintain a clean environment and set a positive example and we regularly join and support other beach cleanups. Our office also uses recycled paper and all of our waste is separated for recycling and composting.
